Medvedja – The Bishop of Nis, Arsenije, paid a visit to Medvedja.  The reason for his visit was the presentation of gifts to the students of the elementary school "Gornja Jablanica" for the beginning of the new school year.

Gifts were also given to other elementary schools in the municipality of Medvedja, whose principals came to pick them up on behalf of their students. Members of the Circle of Serbian Sisters from Leskovac and the Diocese of Nis, with their Bishop, celebrate every Christmas, Easter and the beginning of the school year, with small tokens of love and attention, with children from Medvedja.

After the distribution of gifts, the principal of the elementary school, Slavica Djonic, organized a reception in the school staff room as a sign of gratitude for the support. The reception was also attended by the President of the Municipality of Medvedja, Nebojsa Arsic, and his associates. During the cordial reception, the principal informed the Bishop, as well as all those present, about all the temptations that awaited the teachers and students that school year, which were caused by the COVID 19 pandemic.

After the primary school, the Bishop visited the church of St. Panteleimon in the village of Gazdare. After the village of Gazdare, he also visited the locals in the village of Gajtan. The Bishop visited the church of St. Ilija in that village, in front of which he was greeted by the locals with whom he talked about the renovation of that shrine.

The Bishop visited two poor families in the village of Gajtan and handed them over aid in order to make their everyday life easier, at least for a short time. After handing over the aid, the Bishop visited the temple of the Holy Apostles Petar and Pavle in the village of  Bucumet.
