Bujanovac – Saip Kamberi, the Mayor of Bujanovac, said that the payment of municipal subsidies to agricultural producers for the purchase of machinery and the equipment would begin that week.

“We earmarked 23 million dinars for that purpose in the 2017 budget of the municipality of Bujanovac. However, during the call for applications for the subsidies, we received more applications than we had expected.  Given that most of the applications met the requirements, it is now necessary for the local self-government to provide about 31,254,000 dinars. We are short of around 9.3 million dinars for the disbursement of funds necessary for co-financing the newly acquired agricultural machinery and the equipment. In accordance with the conclusion of the Municipal Council, we will be engaged in obtaining the additional funds from the Government, the relevant Ministries and the Coordination Body,” Mayor Kamberi said.  

The intention of the local leadership is that the municipality of Bujanovac should be in the group of the local self-governments that earmark the most funds for the development of agriculture.

 “We are determined to revive agriculture. We want to employ people in this sector, which has good prospects, "Mayor Kamberi said.

Under a conclusion of the Municipal Council, the subsidies will be paid by rural areas and by the order of applying.
