Source: Jugpress / Bujanovac – Mayor of Bujanovac, Nagip Arifi, said that "the highest priority of the local self- government in Bujanovac was economic development," adding that "it is the only way to come up with political stability.”

He said that the current coalition in Bujanovac operated well and dismissed all speculations about a change in the ruling coalition.

“We are in constant touch with our coalition partners, we work as a team and we have had no problems whatsoever since the formation of the coalition in Bujanovac. Everything we decide about at the Municipal Council and Assembly sessions is the result of our agreement, "said Mr. Arifi.

When asked what could be expected from the budget rebalance, Mr. Arifi said that the issue was currently being addressed, adding that despite the lack of financial resources, several projects were being implemented in Bujanovac.

“We are already working on the paving of roads in the villages of Klinovac, Krševica and Brnjare, and we also made a decision on the water-supply there. Last week we finished the asphalting of the road in the village of Samoljica and we are also performing works in some streets in Bujanovac itself. Our priority is to pave the Trnovac – Breznica road, too. In addition, we are also working on the revamping of the secondary school "Sezalj Suroi’s" yard, whereas we took over the funding of that project from the NIP program. However, we have some financial difficulties, because the contractor has completed about 90 percent of the works, and the funds haven’t been transferred to him yet. We also have several projects that were signed by and between the local self-government and the former Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-government, for which we received only 10 percent of the funds, as well as the Fund for Environmental Protection. We have already filed the request to the current Ministry of Regional Development and Local Self-government to transfer the money to us, "said Mr. Arifi.
