Меdvedja – This year's main tourist season began with the event "Carnival of the Youngest, Young and Always Young". The formal defile was held in Sijarinska Spa, while the event  continued in Medvedja, in front of the Cultural Center.

As in previous years, mostly expected are visitors from Belgrade, Leskovac and other places in South Serbia, Vojvodina and Kosovo and Metohija. The mayor of Medvedja, Nebojša Arsić, emphasizes that they are largely focused on enriching the content of the main tourist potential of Medvedja.

“We have agreed with representatives of the local community, tourist organization and rehabilitation center "Geyser" to implement new ideas for enriching the content.  In addition, significant investments in infrastructure are planned in order to make this jewel of nature occupy the place on the tourist map that belongs to it, "Mayor Arsic said.

Geyser nights are one of the most important tourist events not only in Sijarinska Spa, but also throughout South Serbia. They last for fifteen days and end with a meeting taking place on Saint Eliah’s Day.   Within the summer season, a unique event in Europe is held – marrying under a geyser.

Sijarinska Banja is located in South Serbia, at an altitude of 520 meters. It is 50 km away from Leskovac and 330 km from Belgrade.  The spa has 26 water springs, of which 18 have therapeutic properties. A special feature of the spa are geysers, which are among the most attractive tourist values of Serbia.  The first geyser is a thermo-mineral water spring that is a unique attraction. It emerged in October 1954 when drilling on the left bank of the Banja River, at 470 meters above sea level, at a depth of 9 meters, with a temperature of 71 degrees, while the water column reaches a height of eight meters.

The organization responsible for health tourism and accommodation capacities is the special hospital "Gejzir", which has 277 beds.  It has a medical block for hydrotherapy, mud therapy, electrotherapy, kinesis therapy, inhalation and hot water treatment with medicinal water. Heating of the residence and medical premises is done from the existing sources of hot water.   In addition to this accommodation, there are about 1,500 beds in the private sector in Sijarinska Spa, but this is not enough to meet the needs of visitors who stay in this place throughout the year.
