Medvedja – The municipality of Medvedja is one of the few municipalities, perhaps the only one, in Serbia that supplied all its schools, both those in urban and rural areas, with interactive  whiteboards. In this way, the students will have more contemporary and interesting classes, while the citizens of Medvedja could get new jobs.  The board manufacturer is interested in launching the production of smart whiteboards in Medvedja. 

The students seem to play, since they write and wipe out things from the smart whiteboard, while the smart whiteboard remembers everything. For students of the fourth grade of the primary school "Gornja Jablanica" in Medvedja, learning with an interactive board is a real pleasure, which enables them to get new skills and knowledge.

New interactive whiteboards also mean new methods in teaching.  Each school subject has its own special program, from music, through mathematics and biology, to geography. The smart whiteboard is a novelty for both students and teachers. 

“I think that in time we will begin using all that easily, and I hope that the results will will justify everything, "says Dragan Veselinovic, a math teacher, while Rahim Kusumi, a primary school teacher, says: 

“This is a great contribution to the development and education of children in our school, and is very useful".

Interactive whiteboards are the product of domestic know-how. The municipality of Medvedja can boast that it is the only one in Serbia that has at least one such whiteboard in all schools in its territory. The goal is to have them not only in every school, but also in every classroom.

“We are moving forward and our aim is to have an interactive whiteboard put up in each and every classroom. It is something that is not the future, but the present, and it is something that must happen, "says Zeljko Jovanovic from the "Millennium System" company. 

“There are interactive whiteboards in each school, even in all rural schools. As for the conditions in schools, the reconstruction of two schools, those in Medvedja and Sijarinska Spa, will begin soon through the Public Investment Management Office, "says Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja.

Perhaps as early as next school year, chalk and sponge will no longer be used in schools in Medvedja. Thus, elementary and secondary school students in this town become pioneers in the use of new teaching methods, which have been brought about by digital education, which wipes out the differences in the quality of school education in larger and smaller environments. And they deserved because of their school efforts and their attitude towards school.
