As part of the project "Strengthening the Capacity of Civil Society Organizations to Actively Participate in the EU Accession Negotiations through Selected Working Groups of the National Convention on the EU (Prepare for Participation – P2P),  on July 17,  2019 a call for proposals was issued for the implementation of the Small grants to support civil society of the Republic of Serbia to participate actively in the process of EU accession negotiations with regard to economic criteria in the accession process.

A total amount of EUR 25,000 was set aside for the Small Grants Program, while the maximum amount of an individual grant is up to EUR 6,000. The Program will finance 100% of the eligible project costs. The implementation period of the approved projects is up to 9 months, while it is expected that the implementation of the selected projects will begin in early October 2019.

The deadline for submissions is August 30, 2019.

The project is being implemented by the Center for European Policies (CEP) together with the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) and the Center for Contemporary Policy (CCP), as partners on the project.

The overall objective of the project is to enable different segments of civil society to actively participate in the EU accession negotiation process, in order to make the process fully open to the citizens. In the long term, the project should prepare and empower civil society in Serbia for more effective involvement in the EU accession negotiation process through dialogue with the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the economic criteria in the accession process.
