The Solidarity Fund of Cultural Workers of Serbia called on all artists and cultural workers that have been socially endangered by the corona virus pandemic to sign up for a one-off financial assistance of 30,000 dinars by August 6.
The call was made because a great many artists and cultural workers have been left without much or even all of their income due to the consequences of the pandemic and the inability to work during and after the state of emergency.
All artists and cultural workers in Serbia have the right to 30,000 dinars gross, regardless of their membership in associations, only in that case a certificate of cooperation must be issued by the co-founding associations of the Fund, cultural institutions, as well as by the associations whose credibility is guaranteed by the co-founders of the Solidarity Fund.
Provided they have the certificate, other cultural workers on whose work the production of cultural and artistic events depends, such as models, extras, technicians and support staff, can also request the money. The financial assistance is not intended for freelance artists, those who are registered as businessmen, those who have been approved measures of local self-governmental assistance on the basis of part-time contracts, and those in permanent employment.
So far, funds have been raised through donations from the Open Society Fund, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the FundAction platform, as well as the Heinrich Bell Foundation, which supported the preparation of the Solidarity Fund.
