Presevo – The Serbian women motorcyclists took over the women's international motor relay at the Presevo border crossing, which had started off from Great Britain.
The International Women's motorcycle relay is organized for the first time in the history of motorcycling.
The Serbian women bikers relay was taken over from their colleagues from Northern Macedonia in Presevo, with whom they arrived in Belgrade.
“When we headed towards Northern Macedonia, driving conditions were terrible, since a strong frontal wind was blowing. The girls there welcomed us beautifully. There were also several moto clubs that hosted us. More than 20 bikers arrived in Belgrade, from where we headed for Vojvodina, "said Ana Radzic, the Ambassador of the International Women's Motto Relay for Serbia.
The relay started on February 27, from Scotland and it will pass through thirty countries and is planned to be completed in London. The goal is to draw attention to the number of women in the motorcycle world and to the fact that women are a serious target group to which the market has to adjust. In addition, the Serbian bikers tried to use this event to draw attention to the importance of preventive medical exams in the fight against cancer, as well as to compliance with traffic regulations.
“We absolutely succeeded in our mission. People already recognize us and welcome us. It's a phenomenal feeling. People are calling us from all over Serbia, we get great support. I think that we have turned enough attention to this activity. I am sure that this will not be the only activity that women bikers in Serbia will organize for charity purposes. This was our first action, we learned from our own mistakes, which, fortunately, were not numerous. Next time we will be even more organized, while it is most important we are united“, Ms. Radzic said
Tied around the hands of every biker was a pink scarf, as a symbol of the fight against cancer.
