Bujanovac – If the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development approves the plan of the “Saint Sava” secondary vocational school in Bujanovac, the said educational facility will get two new educational profiles, those of a welder and locksmith, in the next school year.
The plan is to enroll one combined class of 15 students in the first year of the school, who will be trained for the two profiles that are highly demanded on the labor market.
Biserka Jovic, the Principal of the “Saint Sava” secondary vocational school, said that the school had signed contracts with the employers who were willing to provide mentors to students and cover their travel expenses.
“Among them are “Megal” from Bujanovac, "Alfa Plam" from Vranje, "Bida" from Vranje and other metal-manufacturing companies. The Regional Chamber of Commerce from Leskovac supported us, too, given that we are a school with complete documentation necessary for dual education. It is, now, up to the competent ministry to decide whether we will get the approval for the new combined class, "says Ms. Jovic, noting that employers had already expressed their readiness to employ the first generation of trained welders and locksmiths.
Secondary vocational school "Saint Sava" educates students for seven educational profiles: a financial administrator, a sales officer, a motor vehicle technician, a nurse-educator, a cook, a waiter (as of this year, a confectioner, too), and a technician for economic issues, for which the enrollment of new students has been suspended for the past two years.
