Presevo – According to Sciprim Arifi, the Mayor of Presevo, that municipality is a link between the governments of Serbia and Albania, which was confirmed during a recent meeting of the Prime Ministers of the two countries in Nis.

The political situation in the thus far "closed" municipality has changed and it is very important to cooperate with representatives of the government. However, some solutions can be reached only through cooperation between Albania and Serbia, and we have the potential to unite and are a kind of bridge between the two countries, "Mayor Arifi said.

Thus, the problem of textbooks in the Albanian language was resolved in the best possible way, while both sides can be credited for reaching the positive outcome. 

“The cooperation of the Albanian National Council and the Ministries of Education of Albania and Serbia is necessary. After the meeting with Prime Ministers Vucic and Rama, we agreed on this issue and are working on it, so that I'm sure that everything will be taken care of by the beginning of next school year, "said Mayor Arifi, adding that the Serbian government should still resolve their request for the return of the court or the Prosecutor's Office to Presevo.

Mayor Arifi said that the government was expected to help the investors wishing to invest in that part of Serbia, which was equally important as the integration of Albanians in the official institutions, while cooperation with representatives of the local self-governments was essential for achieving that goal.  

“A good example of that is a common approach to solving the migrant crisis, given that the municipality of Presevo was ​​able to cope with a major international problem. The inhabitants of the municipality have shown great humanity and solidarity with the refugees, "said Mayor Arifi, noting that the problem of garbage and lack of water, which afflicted all residents of Presevo, had not been solved yet. 

Fortunately, there is good will to finally solve the problem in cooperation with the Ministries of the Republic of Serbia and international institutions.
