Bujanovac – As part of the "Week of the Diaspora," the municipality of Bujanovac organized a round table on the Albanian national hero George Kastriot Skanderbeg at the local community center.
The round table was held on the occasion of the 550th anniversary of the death of Skanderbeg, who the Albanians celebrate as their great patriot and military leader.
The guest at the roundtable was Professor Luljayim Lajci, PhD, from the Institute of Albanology in Pristina.
Posted on the Facebook page of Bujanovac was that "in this way Bujanovac joined Tirana, Pristina and Skopje, the cities that declared 2018 the year of Skanderbeg."
Some scientific sources say that the Slavic peoples considered Skanderbeg as their national hero because of his fight against the Turks in the 15th century.
