LESKOVAC – Zarko Obradovic, Minister of Education and Science, opened yesterday in Leskovac a renovated secondary students’ residence, as well as the new school administration premises.

The Ministry of Education invested 10 million dinars in renovation of the students’ residence and another million dinars in the equipment for the new school administration premises. The capacity of the students’ residence was increased by 20 per cent, so that it can now accommodate 120 students in double and triple-bed rooms. The renovated students’ kitchen is going to operate in the future in accordance with the standards that are applied in similar institutions in Europe.

“Education is the future of Serbia and that’s why it should be constantly improved. The funds that we dispose of at the time of crisis aren’t large, but we manage to distribute them equally. It’s a good thing that we used the modest funds for improvement in the quality of accommodation in students’ residences and we will continue doing it”, said Minister Zarko Obradovic.

Secondary school students from Kraljevo, Nis, Aleksinac, Prokuplje, Kursumlija, Presevo, Bujanovac, Trgoviste, Vranje and the villages in the vicinity of Leskovac are accommodated at the Leskovac students’ residence.

In addition to the students’ residence, Minister Obradovic cut the red tape in Leskovac, where he opened the new premises of the school administration for the Jablanica and Pcinj districts. There are ten supervisors and inspectors at the said school administration that covers the area of 13 municipalities.
