Presevo – Representatives of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Government of the Republic of Serbia put a new water tank, the capacity of which is one thousand cubic meters, as well as a renewed tank, which receives 500 cubic meters of water, into operation in Presevo.

“The US government allocated 1.3 million US dollars for the recovery of the municipalities most affected by the migration crisis", said Kyle Scott, the US Ambassador to Serbia, adding that the USAID had earmarked 200,000 US dollars for the aforementioned project in Presevo, while the local self-government had provided an additional 160,000 US dollars.

Voicing his belief that the local population, as well as the whole of Serbia, showed great solidarity with the migrants, Branko Ruzic, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, said that, thanks to that, the local infrastructure had been amortized.

“Presevo has been struggling to provide quality drinking water for many years,” said Sciprim Arifi, the former Mayor of Presevo and the Head of the Interim Body in that municipality.

The USAID helped Presevo with improving the waste management issue, so that it, in collaboration with the public company "Moravica", provided a thousand trash cans for the village of Miratovac.
