REBALANCE OF THE MUNICIPAL BUDGET: 40 MILLION DINARS LESS AT DISPOSAL, WITHOUT AGRICULTURAL SUBSIDIES THIS YEAR

Bujanovac – The Municipal Council adopted the draft budget rebalance, by which the funds in the municipal treasury were increased from 1.06 billion to 1.25 billion dinars, but in fact the local self-government would have about 40 million dinars less at its disposal.

On paper, the budget was increased, so that 235 million dinars had been planned from the republican budget for the renovation of the "Branko Radicevic" elementary school in Bujanovac, but in reality the local self-government’s own revenues had been reduced by 21.2 million dinars, as well as by another 16 million dinars from the Coordination Body.

“The largest drop in the revenues was caused by payroll tax, which is a consequence of COVID-19, while the Coordination Body informed us that due to the rebalance of the republican budget, because of the corona virus, we cannot count on the originally set 110 million dinars for capital projects", the Municipal President Nagip Arifi said at a session of the Municipal Council on Wednesday.

Speaking of the expenses, the Head of Financial Department, Boban Pavlovic, pointed out that internsship was among the largest items, which was halved from the planned 40 to 19 million dinars.

As it was said, the funds taken from that position "will mostly be used to pay debts for the projects implemented in the previous three years".

There would be no subsidies for agriculture this year because, as it was said, since the Municipality must first pay subsidies for 2019 in the amount of 19 million dinars.
