“We opted for a rapid development of the municipality and that is why representatives of the chambers of commerce of South Serbia and the region are here, "said the mayor of Bujanovac, Nagip Arifi, at the opening of the fair.   

According to Mr. Arifi, the role of the fair was to attract foreign investors to Bujanovac and South Serbia for the purpose of increasing the employment of young people.

The Centre for the Development of Jablanica and Pcinj Districts assisted with the holding of the fair, while the Embassy of Austria in Serbia supported it.

The Austrian ambassador, Johnnes Eigner, stressed that the Austrian investors expected improvement in business conditions in Serbia. He also said that Austria had been supporting the development of South Serbia for around a decade, adding that the Center for the Development of Jablanica and Pcinj Districts was established thanks to the efforts of the Austrian Development Agency.  

Goran Jovic, the President of the Leskovac Chamber of Commerce, said that the connecting of representatives of the regional chambers of commerce would facilitate their operation, thus improving the economic status of the people in that area.  

Around 60 regional agricultural producers and entrepreneurs exhibited at this year's fair in Bujanovac.  The production of organic food was also presented. However, the manufacturers of agricultural machinery, which especially interested the local farmers in previous years, weren’t present at the fair.
