The students showed that they knew their homeland perfectly well.
The quiz participants were split up in several teams and they had the task of responding to more than 50 questions. In addition to getting points for their knowledge, a large number of points were given to the children for their resourcefulness and quick thinking.
Slavica Djonic, the school principal, did not hide the satisfaction that her students had shown the knowledge, stressing that the quiz demonstrated that top quality work was done in their school.
“During the preparation for this event, the children learned a lot about their town and the rich Roman heritage of this region. They are always ready for challenges, and this quiz has shown that our school is doing well, "the school principal said.
Miljka Bogicevic from the Club of Business Journalists stated that the children from Medvedja had shown extraordinary knowledge in the quiz and that they had known almost everything about their homeland, and, at the same time, were sufficiently familiar with the rich heritage of that region from the Roman period.
The participants in the quiz received the appropriate gifts, which were presented to them by the Medvedja Mayor Nebojsa Arsic. On that occasion, he reiterated that he constantly emphasized the natural and cultural wealth of Gornja Jablanica, remarking that the greatest wealth of Medvedja were its people.
“They are virtuous, honest and smart. Today, our students showed how much they are worth. They are actually our future and the engine of our further development, "Mr. Arsic said.
The aim of the educational program is to promote the tourism potentials of the municipality of Medvedja and Sijarinska Spa, thus preparing students to learn, through the quiz, about the tourist potentials of their region, the opportunities that it provides and the professions they might go into.
