Mr. Stankovic particularly addressed the problem of textbooks and employment in state institutions. He pointed out that he, Saip Kamberi, the Mayor of Bujanovac, and Ragmi Mustafa, the President of the National Council of Albanians, should come out in public and say clearly what was going on with the textbooks in Albanian and who was responsible for the delay.
The President of the Coordination Body stated that the problem of employment of Albanians in state institutions would be solved when the ban on hiring new workers was lifted, and urged that this be done in a transparent manner and in accordance with law, as well as that there should be no party employment.
German Ambassador to Serbia, Thomas Schieb, said during the visit to Bujanovac that the implementation of Chapters 23 and 24 was very important for Serbia's accession to the European Union, which Germany supported, and emphasized the importance of applying the principles adopted, especially in the area of respect and freedom of the media.
The German Ambassador emphasized that the process of exercising minority rights and the implementation of minority rights in the process of European integration was very important, and that Germany, together with other countries, was actively working on the resumption of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. According to him, the solution to the issue was important for the region and for the EU accession process.
Ragmi Mustafa, the President of the National Council of Albanians, made a number of remarks about the implementation of the agreements until then and highlighted the problems in the fields of judiciary, healthcare and education, underscoring that the Albanians would not agree to change their symbol, the flag of Albania.
Giacomo Bosisio, the Head of the OSCE Office in Bujanovac, highlighted the economic backwardness and problems in the economy and privatization in those municipalities.
Mr. Bosisio stressed that the authorities in Bujanovac and Presevo were multi-ethnic, which he considered particularly important.
