Bujanovac – The Association of Roma Women in Bujnovac issued a public call for the unemployed Roma women in the municipality to participate in the training in sewing, which will last until November 12, 2016.
The public call, which is posted on the website of the municipality of Bujanovac, is part of the project "Empowerment of Roma Women in Bujanovac for Employment and Self-Employment." It is funded, through the European Progress program, by the European Union and the Governments of Switzerland and the Republic of Serbia.
The aim of the project, which will be implemented until June 2017, is the economic empowerment of women through training in sewing and dressmaking for the purpose of their easier employment or self-employment.
The training program is designed for a maximum of 10 unemployed Roma women. The training will last six months and will take place at the “Linda” dressmaking shop from November 2016 onwards. The beneficiaries of the course will be thought by dressmaking and sewing instructors. Upon completion of the training, the beneficiaries will take the final exams at the Adult Training Center in Vranje. Those that pass it will receive the certificates necessary for taking dressmaking activities, while the most successful candidates will be donated sewing machines as the basic working tools.
Entitled to participate in the training program are unemployed Roma women who are at least 15 years old, having the first to fourth degree of professional qualifications and permanent or temporary residence in the municipality of Bujanovac.
