Medvedja – The Office of the Mayor of Medvedja, Nebojsa Arsic, stated that the Mayor had an important meeting at the Ministry of Justice in Belgrade two days ago. “The meeting was held with Milan Stevovic, the Head of the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions of the Ministry of Justice, as well as with Goran Petronijevic, the Head of the prison in Leskovac," while the topic discussed at the meeting was "the opening of a dairy in the municipality of Medvedja on the land where the opening of the prison unit had once been planned".

“The project was conceived so that a dairy, along with a supply office, where people from the territory of the municipality of Medvedja were to be employed, would be in an area of 6.2 hectares, which had previously been provided for the construction of the prison unit. This project was greatly supported by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Justice and the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, "it was said in the statement.

It was agreed that the first steps in the implementation of the project should be taken before the beginning of the next year, while the first stage of the project is the preparation of feasibility studies,” it was also said in the statement.
