Mr. Ahmeti said that families with elderly members, children and no income at all had the priority in receiving social welfare assistance, as well as that the decision on receiving social welfare assistance was reached by the expert team of the Social Welfare Center, which completed the documentation and came to the field.
According to data from 2016, around 300 people from the municipality of Bujanovac receive disability-related financial support, while a monthly amount of the support depends on the degree of disability and ranges from 10,000 to 27,000 dinars.

There are five foster families in Bujanovac, while currently two Serbian and one Albanian family take care of the children.
“40 cases of family violence have been recorded in the Bujanovac municipality, including 12 cases of partner violence,” Mr. Ahmety says.
Women report violence to the Bujanovac police station, while four cases of violence were reported to the Center.
Mr. Ahmeti also said that the number of divorces had recently increased in Bujanovac, which were generally uncontested and included fictitious divorces, for the purpose of achieving some goals abroad, getting married and the like. He added that that "usually refers to Albanians and Roma."
The operation of the Social Welfare Centre is funded by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, while the municipality of Bujanovac allocates funds for short-term assistance and material costs.
