In the 2020/2021 school year, the agricultural and forestry school "Josif Pancic" in Surdulica enrolls students in the courses for veterinary technicians and forestry technicians.

These courses are very popular and provide excellent opportunities for the enrollment in the desired two-year post- secondary schools and faculties. The school also offers opportunities for additional training and retraining.

Upon completion of the course for veterinary technicians, students will be trained to work in veterinary stations and dispensaries, slaughterhouses, dairies and on farms. They can continue their education at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Agriculture or at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, as well as at all two-year post-secondary schools. 

Classes held within the course for forestry technicians are attended by students from all over Serbia. The school has its own forest for teaching purposes, as well as an arboretum around the school. On completing the course, students receive certificates for working with a chainsaw and driving a forest tractor. There is a great possibility of enrollment in many faculties.

The school pays great attention to extracurricular activities through which students can nurture their talents and satisfy their interests. There are active drama, recitation and chess clubs, as well as plant protection, cynological and biological clubs. The school also has a large number of sports clubs, such as clubs for table tennis, archery, volleyball, football, basketball, etc.

The school has concluded agreements with forestry schools from Bulgaria and the Czech Republic on organizing student exchanges, so that students, apart from unforgettable socializing, can exchange their experiences in acquiring skills and knowledge.

When it comes to students whose financial position is bad, and to who come from other cities, the school provides them free accommodation in the Student Home located near the school, as well as free textbooks and free transportation.
