Medvedja – On the occasion of New Year and Christmas holidays, a reception for parents of children with disabilities, or a meeting with members of the "Heart for Children” association, was held in the Medvedja Municipal Assembly Hall. On that occasion, Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, said that all children were the same and that they were the greatest treasure that they had.
“Through various meetings and events, which included children with special needs, we realized that our citizens were open and ready for the inclusion of this vulnerable group, which is an indication that we are united and that we breathe as one. I am proud when I stand before you all, and when I can say that we all together make a community that much larger municipalities and cities could look up to. We live in a multinational environment, which is not among the developed areas. Nevertheless, when it comes to giving a hand and providing assistance, none of us would consider it as important whether someone is Albanian, Roma or a member of some other nationality. My best wishes to all of you include those pertaining to being healthy and having better living conditions, while other things will come in time. "
The Mayor of Medvedja gave a New Year’s cash greeting card to disabled children. By that act, he showed that the municipality of Medvedja recognized its priorities, given that the funds planned for seeing the New Year in in the square were transferred to children with disabilities.
