Bujanovac – Upon establishing that there are over 15,000 illiterate persons in the territory of seven municipalities of the Pcinj district, the “Second Chance” project was launched and  persons older than 15 were asked to register for completing elementary school part-time.

“Most of the illiterate are among the Roma population, so that we anticipate that the greatest number of persons for the adult literacy program will include members of the Roma population. It will be possible for them to register for the project until September,” said Mirjana Petrovic, Principal for the school for elementary education of the adults in Vranje.

The “Second Chance” project is carried out under the auspices of the EU, which earmarked four million dinars for this purpose.
