Belgrade, Меdvedja, Bujanovac – On Friday, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, attended the handover of ambulances procured through the EU donation program, with the involvement of UNOPS, for 20 healthcare institutions from all over Serbia and said that it was very important equipment, especially during the pandemic, and that the donation was worth more than 800, 000 euros.  

“I want to thank the European Union. We received 20 well-equipped ambulances for 20 places in Serbia, such as Bujanovac, Medvedja, Novi Pazar, Loznica, Bor, Zagubica etc. We are sincerely grateful for the aid. Serbia is on the European path and it is important for us that we never forget one of the values ​​promoted by the EU, which is solidarity. The aid consists of the most modernly equipped vehicles, and that is what is important for the life of our people", said President Vučić, who once again mentioned  the medical equipment that had arrived in Serbia in the previous period. He pointed out that the most important things for Serbia were the strengthening of healthcare capacities and vaccination, because that was the only way to defeat the disease, which endangered people's lives more than ever.

“I ask everyone to get vaccinated and show responsibility. I wish everyone good health and a better year, and I am convinced that we will succeed in defeating the corona virus by joint efforts”, President Vučić said. 

The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, Ambassador Sam Fabrizi, pointed out that the ambulances were a part of a broader solidarity aid, which had been provided by the EU to Serbia since the beginning of the corona virus pandemic, and that the vehicles would be distributed throughout Serbia, where they were needed the most.
