Bujanovac – Natalia Nikolic, a second grade student at the St. Sava secondary school in Bujanovac, presented in the best possible way her city and school at the Francophone Song Competition in Niš, winning the third place in the semifinals.
The talented girl from Bujanovac received the highest marks from an expert jury for her singing and pronunciation in French.
"I am pleased with the performance and with the third place I have won, although I did not make it to the finals. It was a wonderful experience, "Natalija said.
She almost made it to the finals and the performance at the National Theater in Niš, as out of 14 participants in the senior and junior categories, two top performers from each category went on.
“The competition was fierce, but I was close. I had to work on a stage performance, because it was judged in addition to singing and pronanciation. I love music and languages, especially French. I have been dreaming of Paris since I was a kid. I will definitely continue to work on singing, as it turns out that I have some talent, and I will also continue to study, so maybe next year I will try again, "Natalia said.
Olivera Filipovic, a French language teacher at Bujanovac's school, who was preparing and accompanying Natalija at the competition, together with her colleague Nemanja Brankovic, a music teacher, says that Natalija presented her city and school in the best light.
“Third place and participation in the semi-finals of the music competition, which has been held since 2004, is a great success and confirmation of her talent, but also a success for our school and a motivation for me and my colleagues to keep up the good work, "said the French teacher.
By the way, Natalija was the only student from South Serbia who reached the semifinals and performed at the hall of the Niš Symphony Orchestra.
The Francophone Song Contest, which has been attended by more than 1000 young people learning French so far, has been organized by the French Institute and the Student Cultural Center of Niš for 16 years.
