Medvedja – The Municipality of Medvedja won the first place in the contest for the "Municipality/ City of Equal Opportunities," which was organized by the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, with the support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
Medvedja – The Municipality of Medvedja won the first place in the contest for the "Municipality/ City of Equal Opportunities," which was organized by the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, with the support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
The award for the "Municipality/City of Equal Opportunities" is awarded every year. The Laureate will be able to use a special Equality Logo until the next winner is selected and will be promoted as an example of best practice to all other local self-governments in creating and implementing the measures for the promotion of equality and provision of equal opportunities.
The winning municipalities will be awarded at the Annual Conference organized by the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality on the occasion of the International Tolerance Day.
This gathering will be attended by representatives of state and other public bodies, embassies and international organizations in the Republic of Serbia, as well as by non-governmental organizations and the media.
On behalf of the municipality of Medvedja, which this year took the first place in the contest for the Municipality /City of Equal Opportunities, which was organized by the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, the award will be received by Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja.
Last year, the municipality of Gadzin Han took the first place, while the second place went to Novi Sad and the third to the municipality of Svrljig.
The award ceremony will be broadcast by the Radio and Television of Serbia.
