"I categorically state that this will not happen," Mr. Stankovic said for the "Vecernje Novosti" daily while commenting on the situation and the raising of tensions in public following the news that representatives of the Albanians from Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja requested that the Assembly in Pristina should adopt a resolution to support their demand for joining Kosovo and Metohija.
He said that those who insisted on the stories on joining Kosovo and Metohija referred to the illegal referendum from 1992 and that the very same persons had lost the elections in all three municipalities.
"The people showed them what they think about it. And this uncertainty that is emphasized in the media brings harm because it prevents the arrival of investors who seek political and security stability, " Mr. Stankovic said.
He also said that the issue of the three municipalities would not be the subject of negotiations in Brussels.
"Some people say that they will ask for it, but we know that the topic is not, and will not be discussed," Mr. Stankovic said.
