“Young people who will stay to live in Medvedja will get employed there, whereas production will get upgraded later on, "Mr. Draskovic said, adding that "everyone would benefit from the factory.”
“EU Progress invested 100,000 US dollars in the reconstruction; we participated with 10 percent, while the Slovenian government invested around 870,000 euros in the equipment.
The reconstruction is supported by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland, through the EU PROGRESS, with 85,500 euros. The municipality of Medvedja participates in the project with 9,950 euros.
The Slovenian Government, through the Center for International Cooperation and Development, invested 830,950 euros in the purchase of machinery for the production of pellets.
The renovation of about five thousand square feet of the roof and 1,800 square meters of the floor, as well as the insulation and utility and infrastructure works, will be completed in mid-November.
