Belgrade – The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development has, today, sent a binding recommendation to all primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Serbia, with the aim of preventing the spread of a possible infection.
Stated in the letter is that the schools need to do the following:
– Regular maintenance of the school premises: ventilation of classrooms, cleaning of yards and classrooms and regular emptying of waste bins by using gloves;
– Washing and disinfecting floors, walls, doors and school desk surfaces;
– Regular supply of toilets, classrooms and dining rooms with soap;
– Encouraging students to wash their hands;
– To advise students and adults not to touch the eyes, mouth and nose with unwashed hands;
– Not to exchange food and use the same glasses and water bottles;
– Regularly dispose of used paper wipes and towels in waste bins;
– Plan classes held with class leaders that are dedicated to maintaining personal hygiene and the immediate environment, but also to communication that is not liable to spreading panic and disseminating unverified information;
–Recommend that parents and students postpone celebrations and gatherings;
– Plan student parliamentary activities that will encourage students to maintain personal hygiene and maintain school premises on a regular basis;
– Post recommendations on preventive activities on the school's website;
– Within the scope of teaching and extracurricular activities, plan educational topics or acquaintance with the paths of viral infections.
Also indicated in the letter was that schools need to protect students and parents from unwanted panic.
