Presevo – Aleksandar Vulin, the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, said during his yesterday's visit to Presevo that the citizens and the Government of the Republic of Serbia had contributed to increasing the reputation of our country in the world by their positive attitude towards the migrants.
Minister Vulin, along with representatives of the German KFW Development Bank, through which the German government had donated 5.4 million euros to the municipalities affected by the migrant crisis, visited the reception center and the "Ibrahim Keljmendi" primary school, where the school gym was being renovated with donor funds.
According to Minister Vulin, the population of Serbia treated the migrants in the best possible manner: "Our reputation in the world has improved considerably thanks to our conduct in the migrant crisis, and that was recognized by the German government, which provided assistance to us."
The German government donated, through the German KFW Development Bank, 5.4 million euros to the 14 municipalities affected by the migrant crisis. The donation is to be used for the reconstruction of schools, kindergartens and health care institutions, as well as for the infrastructure development.
Roland Ziller, the Director General of the German KFW Development Bank for Europe and Asia, voiced satisfaction with the conditions in which the migrants resided in Presevo.
"This is a new project, the implementation of which was launched last November. The idea is to support the municipalities that are affected by the migrant crisis and that accepted the migrants. People who are willing to unselfishly share what they have with the migrants should receive support and appreciation from Germany, "Mr. Ziller said.
Germany donated 50.000 euros for the renovation of the gym of the “Ibrahim Keljmendi” primary school in Presevo.
"It is important for us to continue supporting such projects, so that conditions at the school could improve. We are grateful to the Government of Germany and, of course, to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, which is our partner and which helps us run the reception center and obtain such funds, "said Sciprim Arifi, the Mayor of Presevo.
The “Ibrahim Keljmendi” primary school in Presevo, which has not been renovated for fifty years, is attended by 1,500 students.
