Beograd – Vlada Republike Srbije je odlučila da poveća broj stipendija za studente i ne smanji iznose njihovih stipendija jer su mladi prioritet u našem društvu, rekao je ministar omladine i sporta Vanja Udovičić.
Belgrade – The Government of the Republic of Serbia has decided to increase the number of student scholarships and not to reduce the amounts of their scholarships because young people are a priority in our society, said Vanja Udovicic, the Minister of Youth and Sports.
At the session of the Fund for Young Talents, a decision was reached to provide scholarships to a total of 1,410 candidates – 950 best students in the final year of basic academic studies and 460 students in the final year of master's academic studies.
“These are 1,410 of the most talented young people today, who are the best examples of our future. I want to thank all the students who from year to year show that knowledge is an invaluable and inexhaustible source of strength and energy of any society. In this way, we want to encourage and invest in young people, who will be important for a promising and prosperous Serbia in the future, "the Minister pointed out.
According to him, the giving of recognition for commitment, work and sacrifice continues, so that the best students are awarded this year as well.
"We want to recognize the work and commitment of young people in the proper way and encourage them with a scholarship from the Fund for Young Talents, as well as to motivate them, so that they would know that not only the state, but alsothe entire system is behind them," Minister Udovicic said.
A total of 2,187 candidates applied for the call, which lasted from December 23 last year to January 24 this year.
Out of the total number of applicants, 2,117 candidates submitted proper and complete documentation and fulfilled all the requirements of the call, while 70 candidates did not meet one or more requirements of the call or had incomplete documentation.
