MINISTER UDOVICIC IN MEDVEDJA: LET US IMPROVE THE CONDITIONS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Мedvedja – Vanja Udovicic, the Minister of Youth and Sports, visited the municipality of Medvedja, where he donated the sports equipment to the football and basketball club “Jablanica”, visited the sports fields and talked with representatives of the authorities about cooperation on improving the sports system and youth policy.

During his visit to Medvedja, Minister Udovicic visited the gym of the "Nikola Tesla" secondary technical school, which needed repairs of the roof and parquet floor, and then listened to representatives of the local sports federations and clubs. He said that the visit to Medvedja was only one in a series of his visits to the places throughout Serbia

“I am pleased that, through a helpful conversation with representatives of the municipality and sports organizations, we discussed common goals and activities to ensure the development of sports, sports infrastructure and going in for sports by members of all generations. We remain committed to cooperation and to working openly and responsibly – because we are on the same team, " Minister Udovicic said.

Minister Udovicic, who visited Medvedja for the second time in just six months, also visited the elementary school "Radovan Kovacevic" in the village of Lece, as well as its separate department in the village of Gazdare, where the reconstruction of sports fields was discussed.

"Our idea is to have direct talks on improving the lives of all citizens and the conditions for getting engaged in school sports. So six months ago, we donated the equipment for one gym. Medvedja has been rewarded because it strengthens the school sports system and is a real example to everyone, "said Minister Udovicic, noting that there were no privileged regions and that every region of Serbia was important.

Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, emphasized that Medvedja still wanted to invest in sports, through increasing the budget for those purposes, because, as he said, it was the only way to keep its youth healthy.

“Our plans have been successfully carried out with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.  Our budget is growing year by year. We firstly had six million dinars, then 10 million dinars, while, this year, we have planned 15 million dinars in order to direct more children to sports. We want to create an environment for children to enjoy it, " Mayor Arsic said, pointing out that their goal was to establish a water polo club in that place.

In the sphere of youth policy, proposals for more intensive work on improving the conditions for youth development and creating new opportunities for its training for an even more important role in society were considered.

At the same time, children were given sports equipment, jerseys and other sports items.
