Belgrade – The Minister without portfolio in charge of underdeveloped municipalities, Novica Toncev, stated that the Government of the Republic of Serbia was working on compensating the damage caused by the floods, not only to farmers, but also to all the households that had suffered damage.

Belgrade – The Minister without portfolio in charge of underdeveloped municipalities, Novica Toncev, stated that the Government of the Republic of Serbia was working on compensating the damage caused by the floods, not only to farmers, but also to all the households that had suffered damage.

Minister Toncev said in the Parliament that the endangered places had suffered the greatest damage in terms of water supply, electricity supply, agriculture and infrastructure.

He pointed out that the Government would first help the poor municipalities.

"By the recommendation of the Prime Minister, we are working on compensating all the damage, not only to the farmers, but also to all the households that had suffered damage," Minister Toncev said.

The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Marija Obradovic, said that a call for applications for spending by the cities and municipalities the funds from the budget fund for local self-governments was underway at that moment.

“One of the goals for which they can apply is preventive action to reduce the risk of climate change and natural and other disasters. There is 41.4 million dinars, which is not too much, but the call for applications has lasted for about 15 days and will be open until February 4, and no local self-government has applied yet. I appeal to the cities and municipalities to apply, so that we could finance those projects, "Minister Obradovic said.
