Меdvedja – Yesterday, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Marija Obradovic visited the municipality of Medvedja, where she talked with the leadership of the municipalities of Medvedja, Lebane and Bojnik about the current situation, bearing in mind the declared emergency situation in those municipalities due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the recent floods and the projects that the municipalities could implement with the budgetary funds obtained through the call for applications of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.

The Minister attended the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation and Understanding between the municipalities of Lebane, Bojnik and Medvedja, which envisages the development and strengthening of inter-municipal cooperation, joint work on the projects of interest to the residents of those municipalities, and work on improving the services provided to the citizens at the local level.

“I am glad that today, with my presence, I can support this important initiative for the citizens of Lebane, Bojnik and Medvedja, which is linking up the Jablanica and Toplica districts through the Agreement on Cooperation of your municipalities, which should bring better life to these areas. Use it to the fullest, exchange experiences and ideas, jointly apply for funds from the budget, which will help you implement the projects of interest to your citizens, encourage employment, but also the stay of young people and the birth of children in this area. You have the Ministry’s support for realizing the cooperation to which you committed today," Minister Obradovic said after signing of the Agreement.

She pointed out that the municipality of Medvedja was one of the good examples of how to use budget funds to improve the work of local self-governmental units in Serbia, which is why that municipality was declared one of the best in 2019.

The Agreement on Cooperation and Understanding was signed by the Presidents of the Municipality of Bojnik, Nebojsa Nenadovic, the Municipality of Medvedja, Nebojsa Arsic, and the President of the Municipal Assembly of Lebane, Boban Pejic.
 

Minister Obradovic used that opportunity to once again ask all the citizens of Serbia to apply via the e-Government portal, and as of today to call the contact center, and express their interest in the vaccine against COVID-19. She also said that only mass vaccination could defeat the disease and make it possible for us to return to normal life.
