Novi Knezevac, Presevo – A group of about 200 migrants, with adequate escort, was transported from the area of the municipality of Novi Kneževac, in the north of Banat, to the Reception Center in Presevo.

The action was jointly conducted by the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and the Gendarmerie, said Radovan Uverić, the President of the Municipality of Novi Kneževac.  As he said, transportation was provided by four buses.

“The migrants were in the area of the villages of Majdan, Rabe, Djala and Srpski Krstur. They were all sent to Presevo. Transportation buses were provided by the local self-government. This is the first such mass action of sending migrants from our area, and there will probably be more of them in the coming period”, Mr. Uveric said.

By the way, there is always and increasing number of migrants in this part of Banat, which is the closest to the border, who, in addition to numerous obstacles and bans,  try to cross into Hungary.

In addition, incidents occur. Last Wednesday, a Libyan citizen was found on the street with a stab wound in the area of his chest, in the place of Djala, where there is also a border crossing.

He was stabbed that morning, and the locals found him lying on the street and informed the police. He was then transported to the General Hospital in Senta, and the transport was performed by the Emergency Service, it was said at the time in the Police Department in Kikinda. It is presumed that there was a conflict between migrants at that time, which also happens in the Reception Center near Kikinda.
