Presevo, Bujanovac – Migrant children and their parents, who are temporarily accommodated in the reception centers in Presevo, Bujanovac and Vranje, visited the Saint Prohor Pcinjski monastery, as well as the summer house and an old water mill on the slopes of Mt. Kozjak.
Ivana Curko Anic, a representative of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, said that the trip was a unique opportunity for children and their parents to learn about the historical, cultural and spiritual heritage of Serbia, as well as to spend a day differently from the days spent in reception centers.
She also said that the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration supported such activities because they not only made it possible for migrants to get acquainted with the heritage and natural beauties of Serbia, but also enabled cultural and social exchange between different cultures.
According to the data of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, 3,100 migrants are currently accommodated in 18 reception and asylum centers in Serbia.
