Medvedja – Members of the "Heart for Children" association of parents of disabled children from the municipality of Medvedja met with representatives of the local self-government and requested from them a room for the stay of their children in Medvedja.
There are around 30 or so children with some form of disability in the area of the municipality.
Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, who attended the meeting, said:
“We will do everything we can and within our abilities to help the children and their parents. I promised to members of the association that I would talk with my co-workers about whether their requirement could be met."
The association was founded late last year with the aim of improving the position of children and youth with disabilities in physical and intellectual development and providing support to their parents. At that time, the "Heart for Children" Association had fifteen members.
