Vranje – The first Media Shelter in Serbia was opened in Vranje, which is a result of joint efforts of the Development and Integration Team and the Civic Initiatives NGO. The Media Shelter will be a place for all organizations that do not have the premises in that city for holding forums, roundtables and other free social life events.
In the presence of representatives of the media, civil sector and citizens, those premises were promoted to a place where all those who are interested in strengthening the three freedoms on which civil society rests, which include freedom of assembly, freedom of organization and freedom of expression, will gather.
It was emphasized that Vranje lacked the place where various activities undertaken by civil society and the media, as well as by the citizens, would take place
Prior to the opening ceremony of the Media Shelter, a panel discussion entitled "Three Freedoms" was hosted by Mihajlo Stojkovic from the Development and Integration Team, and Vukasin Obradovic and Pavle Grbovic from the Civic Initiatives NGO.
The Media Shelter is located in the premises owned by the Development and Integration Team, which is the founder of Info Vranjske, at 8. brigade 3, near the roundabout, and for the time being it will operate as needed, with the intention of turning its activities into everyday ones.
The Media Shelter was opened as part of the Press Shelters project, which is funded by the German Embassy in Serbia.
