The driver of the truck with Kraljevo registration plates reported during the regular control that while driving he had heard noise inside the truck trailer.
That was followed by an inspection with a multi-gas detector "Drager", which registered an increased concentration of carbon dioxide in the truck trailer.
"After the removal of the northern Macedonian customs seal, on which no damage was noticed, 12 young people without personal documents were found in the cargo area, who said that they were citizens of Syria," it was said in the statement.
After having been detected, the stowaways – migrants were taken over by the police.
Since the beginning of the year, a total of 139 illegal migrants have been detected in various cargoes at our border crossings, the Customs Administration stated.
