LECTURE FOR BUJANOVAC BEE-KEEPERS

Bujanovac –  Lecturers from the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade held a lecture for Bujanovac beekeepers at the "Vuk Karadzic" community center in Bujanovac on Saturday.

Bujanovac –  Lecturers from the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade held a lecture for Bujanovac beekeepers at the "Vuk Karadzic" community center in Bujanovac on Saturday.  

Uros Glavinic, a doctor of veterinary medicine, spoke about hygienic and sanitary measures and procedures in apiaries, as a condition of good health and productive capacity of honey bee colonies.  

His colleague, Nemanja Jovanovic, talked to the beekeepers about pathological changes in bees, as well as about the parasites, while Prof. Zoran Stanimirovic, PhD, the Head of the above-mentioned Department, presented to the attendees the latest experiences with quality food as a prerequisite for the health of bees and getting quality and safe bee products. 

“The Republic of Serbia is willing to help everyone. One example of that is this project, during which my associates and I hold educational meetings for beekeeper associations in Serbia. The project is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, " Prof. Stanimirovic said. 

Zarije Mitic, the President of the Bujanovac Beekeepers Association "Pollen 2012", which organized the lecture, said that it was the last one to be held that winter as part of the educational program of that Beekeepers Association, which would celebrate four decades of existence and operation the following year.
