Artist Marina Abramovic invites young artists and students from the Republic of Serbia to apply for a masterclass to be held from September 24 to September 26 as part of her retrospective exhibition “Cleaner” at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade (MCAB).
As announced, the selected participants will spend time with Marina Abramovic in intense art work, exploration, learning and familiarization with the world of artistic performance.
Those interested in participating in the event should apply by August 25, 2019 by sending an e-mail to masterclass@msub.org.rs , after which Marina Abramovic will select up to 20 participants.
The application should include a short bio of the potential participant and present three of his or her works – performances with descriptions. It is also necessary to submit video and photo materials (the quality of video and photo materials is not crucial). Works can be those that have already been performed or those specially designed for the occasion.
All those who are selected to participate in the masterclass are required to give their consent to the recording, photographing and using the character in recorded materials during the three days of the masterclass.
Upon completion of the three-day program, all participants will receive a certificate of participation in the masterclass.
The “Cleaner” exhibition is organized by the MCAB with the support of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
