Bujanovac – The 9th International Folk Ensemble Festival will begin on the sports ground located next to the school in the village of Rekovac, on July 13, where apart from domestic folk ensembles, those from the neighboring Macedonia will perform, too.
The two-day international festival is organized by the Rakovac-based folk ensemble “Vrelo”, which was founded in 1978.
Sladjan Petrovic, the Head of the folk ensemble, said that unlike the previous eight years, when the event was held in Bujanovac, it would take place in the village of Rakovac that year.
“People from the Bujanovac "Vuk Karadzic" community center, where we and our guests performed all these years, told us that the dates when the international festival was to be held had already been booked. However, I think that we will, despite that, organize this important event successfully. We expect a great response from the audience and good fun," Mr. Petrovic said.
“The ”Mladost” folk ensemble from Kicevo, the “Karpos” folk ensemble from Kumanovo and the “Jane Sandanski” folk ensemble from Strumica are coming over. Of course, the event will feature the St. Prohor Pcinjski choir from Bujanovac, too,"said the Head of the "Vrelo" folk ensemble, which is the host and organizer of the upcoming international festival.
Both festival evenings, the one on the 13th and the one on the 15th of July, will start at 9 pm.
