Bujanovac –  Miroslav Velickovic (31), a poet from the village of Levosoje near Bujanovac, wrote one of his poems in honour of the Serbian village. Miroslav, as he puts it, has written more than 200 dedicated articles for his acquaintances, a handful of poems and verses about love, friendship, alcohol, gambling and life, as well as several patriotic poems.

"Who will I talk with,

Who will whisper to me,

Only tears from my eyes will drop,

When I open the wooden door,

There is only an old table in the middle of the room,

Where people used to eat well,

Spiders are weaving their web in the corner,

Cries in my soul…”

The verses that he came up with are also found on tombstones. It was only when he discovered the gift for writing poems that he understood why he had defeated leukemia when he was 14 and why God had let him live his life, Mr. Velickovic said. His desire is, he says, to have a collection of his poems published or at least to collect everything that he has written so far in one book.
