Bujanovac – Last year, ten million dinars were set aside in the budget of the municipality of Bujanovac for a one-off financial assistance to students.
“The one-off financial assistance was given to all students who study, regardless of their status. Ten million dinars were paid to a total of 733 students ", said Boban Pavlovic, the Head of the Finance Department in the municipality of Bujanovac.
“With the assistance of and in cooperation with the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, scholarships were paid, for ten months, to 124 secondary school students from all three communities, while each scholarship amounted to 6,000 dinars. We also issued a public call for civic associations, for which two million dinars were spent. There are also young people in those non-governmental organizations", Mr. Pavlovic said.
This year, the Bujanovac Youth Office received only the money for salaries and fixed costs. At the end of last year, this office received 5,000 euros of financial assistance from the Albanian Embassy in Belgrade for the purchase of new computers and the opening of a computer school in 2021.
In the new budget for 2021, the same amount is planned for youth support as in 2020.
“Ten million dinars is planned for the payment of one-off financial assistance to students, a public call for scholarships for secondary school students is also planned, while the Youth Office will receive 1.5 million dinars for the implementation of its projects", Mr. Pavlovic said.
The adopted budget of the municipality of Bujanovac is 1.298 billion dinars.
"235 million dinars are planned for the renovation of the elementary school" Branko Radicevic ", which is attended by Serbian and Roma children," Mr. Pavlovic said.
Mr. Pavlovic said that the budget was filled from local taxes and contributions, but that the largest items in the municipal budget were transfer funds, the amount of which had not changed since 2014.
They expect 106 million dinars from the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja for capital projects in 2021. It is the money from the republican budget, which, through the Coordination Body, is earmarked for the municipality of Bujanovac.
