The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Team of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Forum for Youth with Disabilities, in cooperation with the National Employment Office (NEO), implemented a joint project in 2019 and produced a Handbook for Advisors for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities.

The initiative was aimed at ensuring the systemic sustainability of the inclusive recruitment procedures for persons with disabilities. The cooperation is based on the results of the testing in practice of inclusive procedures for the employment of persons with disabilities, which was, as part of the project "Work Practice for Young Persons with Disabilities", conducted by the Forum of Youth with Disabilities. The project is part of a broader “To Work through Knowledge” program, which is implemented by the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Team, with the support of the Government of Switzerland.

The main objective of the handbook is to provide guidance for working with persons with disabilities to the employment advisers at the National Employment Office and its branches. The handbook offers a number of tips and practical recommendations for communicating with people with disabilities who are looking for work, as well as the guidelines for developing an individual employment plan and involving people with disabilities in its preparation. In addition, the handbook provides guidance to employers with regard to providing an inclusive work environment and adjusting workplaces to persons with disabilities.
