Belgrade –  The government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the measures for increasing Birth Rates – We Do Not Have Children. "This is a key problem for our country," said Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Republic of Serbia, who announced that Serbia would, in the period to come, start undertaking the measures for increasing birth rates. He also said that if we failed to deal with the issue of birth rates right away “we will lose the country, which we have no right to do, because it is our obligation to take care of our homeland in the future."

He said that the government of the Republic of Serbia had adopted the measures for improving birth rates, while he had founded the Council for dealing with the problem. Mothers will, on a one-off basis, receive 100,000 dinars for the first child and 10,000 dinars per month for the second child, over a period of 24 months. Mothers who give birth to the third child will get 12,000 per month over a ten-year period, while the financial assistance for the fourth child, over the above-mentioned period, will amount to a total of 18,000 dinars.
