Leskovac – Zoran Kostic, Assistant Minister of Education and Science, gave recently to the pupils of primary and secondary schools in the Jablanica and Pcinj districts albums containing 25 coins with the portraits of statesmen, scholars, saints and artists who had left their marks in the Serbian history.

“This day is a holiday not only for you, but also for your parents, cities of origin and the education in Serbia. With this gift we want to show that we think of you and to let these recognitions remind you that learning is a lifelong process. Knowledge isn’t everlasting. It is changeable, like everything else. Being the best student doesn’t only mean that you have the best school grades. It requires a great deal of work, effort and sacrifice, as well acceptance and recognition by your teachers and principals. Being a student of the generation means being the best friend, too "said Mr. Kostic.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Serbia have been undertaking the activity of rewarding the best elementary and high school students in Serbia for three years.

"You know the best how hard it was for you to earn these awards. I wish to those who have completed the eighth grade to enroll in the schools they want to, and to secondary school graduates to enroll in the faculties they prefer. I’m asking you to return after your graduation to the cities from which you have gone, “said Tomislav Simonovic, Head of the Leskovac School Administration.

The rewards were received by116 elementary and high school students from 113 schools in the Jablanica and Pcinj districts.
