Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja – According to the “Blic” daily newspaper, amendments to the Regulation on Energy Vulnerable Customers, by which the competent authorities are trying to facilitate the procedure of obtaining free kilowatts for the poorest citizens, came into force yesterday.

The lower limit of household income, based on which the household will be able to get free electricity, was increased, so that one-member households can count on kilowatts without compensation if their monthly incomes are up to 14,258 dinars, while the limit for two and three-member households is 20.600 dinars, for four and five-member households just over 27,000 dinars, and for six-member or larger households a bit over 34,000 dinars. This year, 74,818 out of 400,000 poorest citizens received free kilowatts.  

The Ministry of Energy has recently increased income levels that have been set as a condition for obtaining facilities for paying electricity bills. All citizens who receive social assistance and child allowances will be able to automatically obtain electricity bill payment facilities.   

This year, 1.05 billion dinars were earmarked in the budget for covering the cost of kilowatts that poor citizens get without payment
