Vranje – Zoran Antic, the Commander of the Staff for Emergency Situations and the Mayor of Vranje, said that the floods and hail had caused damage of over 8.3 million dianrs to the local farmers.  

Floods ruined crops and other agricultural produce in the municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac, as well as those in the area of the city of Vranje. Hail destroyed and damaged many greenhouses planted with vegetables and strawberries, as well as orchards.

Fields in South Serbia are unprotected because of the Kumanovo Agreement, under which the ten-kilometer belt from the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija isn’t included in the area to be protected against hail.
