Vranje – The "Pool" documentary, which was directed by Sladjan Stojanovic Frankie and produced by the Office of the Radio and Television of Serbia in Vranje, won the first prize at the 9th International Festival of Documentaries called "Roma Life", which was held in Budapest, Hungary.
The film deals with a little primitive outdoor swimming pool on the Banjstica River, where residents gather together in both winter and summer.
That is the place where they swim, wash their clothes and themselves, as well as the talk to each other and socialize.
This is the sixth festival award for the "Pool" film, which was made five years ago.
“The festival deals with the issues of contemporary life of the Roma and their problems. I am very glad that the film has its own life after all this time, "Mr. Stojanovic said.
The latest film of the Vranje author called the "Exhibition", which deals with the migrant crisis, will have its premiere in mid-December at the Cultural Center in Novi Sad, as well as at the Festival of the European Independent Films "Euro-In Movie."
Sladjan Stojanovic Frankie said that a festival of documentaries called the “Document” would take place in Vranje in mid-December, and that the festival’s program would become known in a few days’ time.
